Repertoire includes several helpful tools for your practice sessions and rehearsals.
Start by selecting a Song from your Library. This takes you to the Practice screen.
Sheet Music Viewer
The main area is taken up by the Sheet Music viewer. If you’ve attached sheet music to this song, you’ll see it here. You can scroll through the pages horizontally by swiping to the left and right.
If you’ve attached multiple sheet music files to a song, a picker will appear in the top-right of the Sheet Music viewer, allowing you to choose which file to view.
Annotating Sheet Music
You can draw annotations on your sheet music by entering Annotate Mode. Use the Pen icon in the top-right to enter and exit Annotate Mode. While Annotate Mode is active, the Pen will be coloured green.
In Annotate Mode, you get a few tools:
Pen tool with multiple colours and stroke thicknesses
Eraser
Undo/redo
All these tools are available in the Annotation Toolbar which appears on the left edge of the screen.
If the Toolbar gets in your way, you can collapse it using the downward arrow at the top of the toolbar. This shrinks the toolbar into a button in the bottom-left corner of the sheet music viewer; just tap the button to expand the toolbar again.
Annotations are saved automatically as you draw.
The Toolbar
The Toolbar appears below the Sheet Music Viewer. On mobile, you can select which tool to view by tapping its icon. On tablet/desktop, the toolbar shows all the tools at once. You can scroll the toolbar horizontally, and expand/collapse it using the button just above the toolbar on the right.
All the tools can be used simultaneously. On mobile, active tools are highlighted in green.
Track Player
You can use the Track Player to play practice tracks and recordings you’ve attached to this song. Use the dropdown to select a practice track or recording, and the Play/Pause button to start or stop playback.
Other playback tools include:
Repeat button, which is green when repeat is enabled and grey when it’s disabled
Playback speed button
Seek bar
Clipping tools, which can be used to play a short section of the track on repeat
To set the start position of your clip, use the seek bar or simply play the track until you get to the desired start position, then tap the Set Clip Start button (horizontal line with a little dot on the left end).
Similarly, to set the end position of your clip, seek or play to the desired position and tap the Set Clip End button (horizontal line with a little dot on the right end).
To clear the clip positions, use the X button next to the clip controls
The Track Player will continue to play if you exit/minimise the app, or if you lock your device screen. If you navigate away from the Practice screen, playback will end.
Metronome
To start/stop the metronome, use the Play/Pause button on the metronome tool.
The metronome has both audible and visual feedback, so you can use it even if your volume is turned down.
If you’ve saved a Tempo with the song, the Metronome will be automatically set to the tempo you’ve saved. You can adjust the tempo and number of beats per bar by tapping anywhere on the Metronome tool.
Tuner
To start/stop the Tuner, tap anywhere on the tool. If it asks for permission to access your Microphone, please grant it.
The Tuner uses your device’s microphone to estimate the pitch you’re singing/playing, and how accurate you are compared to the target pitch.
Accuracy is measured in cents, or hundredths of a semitone. In other words, a difference of +50 cents means you are half a semitone too sharp.
Pitch Pipe
Use the pitch pipe to play a particular pitch. Tap on the pitch you want to play, and it will sound for 5 seconds or until you tap it again.
If you’ve saved the Starting Key for the song you’re practicing, that pitch will be highlighted on the Pitch Pipe tool.
Record
Use the Record tool to record yourself singing or playing the song.
To start the recording, tap the Microphone button. When you’re done, tap the Stop button. When you’ve finished recording, the file will be automatically uploaded and attached to the song you’re practicing.
